The CaptairBio PCR Workstations from Erlab use a UV lamp, which allows the working environment to be decontaminated in order to prevent contamination of samples. The filtration of the sterile housing is controlled by a fan that draws in air from the laboratory and passes it through a HEPA H14 filter, which is more than 99.995% effective at trapping particles 0.1 microns and higher.
