Isoelectric Focusing

Wed, 05/13/2009 - 10:47am

Beckman Coulter introduces advanced isoelectric focusing (IEF) technology, featuring a new peptide-based pI Marker Kit for the charge heterogeneity analysis of biotherapeutics. Based on capillary electrophoresis methods, this solution enables biopharmaceutical researchers and technicians to implement quantitative isoelectric focusing in a QC environment. The company has taken a holistic look at capillary isoelectric focusing (cIEF) and optimized system performance for those parameters that are critical for quantitative reproducibility. New methods address gradient stability and protein solubility, and the new synthetic pI markers attain high levels of precision in pI identification and isoform quantitation. These pI calibrators are packaged as a set containing markers for pI 4.1, 5.5, 6.7, 7.0, 9.5, and 10.0, each in sufficient quantity for 100 tests.
