Millipore has introduced a new line of tissue culture plates pre-coated with a selection of matrices that enhance cell growth and differentiation for stem cell, cancer, cell signaling, and other critical research applications. New Millicoat Cultureware are 6- or 24-well tissue culture plates that have been pre-coated with either protein or synthetic coatings including Collagen, Fibronectin, and Poly-D-Lysine. ECM proteins provide a substrate necessary for many fastidious cells to attach to a surface. Studies show that anchorage-dependent cells growing on ECM undergo more efficient plating; have higher proliferation rates; reach a higher density; require lower serum and growth factor concentrations; and demonstrate enhanced differentiation potential.
