Neonatal Rat Cardiac Myocytes

Clonetics Neonatal Rat Cardiac Myocytes are available for use in cardiovascular and toxicological research. These cryopreserved cells offer functional, beating cardiac myocytes upon thaw, at the user’s convenience. Cardiac myocytes provide research laboratories with ready-to-use primary cells for studies in areas such as cell contraction and physiology, ion channel flux, cardiac lipid metabolism and lipotoxicity, cardiac injury and apoptosis, inflammation, hypertension, and cytotoxicity. The Myocytes are cryopreserved primary ventricular myocytes isolated from Sprague-Dawley rats at P1-3. These cells are 85% pure after thaw with 80% viability. Cells stain positive for actinin, and are electrophysiologically active as demonstrated by in vitro beating after 24 hours in culture. Cells are tested and guaranteed to be mycoplasma and bacteria free.
