Matrix For Stem Cell Culture
Extracel-HP hydrogel is a hyaluronan-based, synthetic extracellular matrix containing catalytic amounts of cross-linked heparin. The product provides better experimental design for stem cell culture because it mimics a cell’s environment better than plastic. The heparin permits slow, continuous release of growth factors incorporated in the hydrogel. Hence, stem cells are no longer exposed to extreme changes in growth factor concentration during frequent media changes. The stiffness of this hydrogel’s surface can be changed for specific applications. Kits are available in three 2.5 ml aliquots or a single 12.5 ml aliquot volumes.
