Extracellular Matrix
Extracel family hydrogel kits are used in 3-D cell culture, primary and stem cell cultivation, tumor xenografts, and tissue engineering. Made from synthetic extracellular matrix (ECM) made from hyaluronic acid, a major component of native ECMs, the hydrogels are chemically defined, easily modified and highly biocompatible. Researchers can add specific amounts and types of growth factors and native ECM components to the Extracel platform for specific experimental requirements in vitro or in vivo, and as a result, can control shape and stiffness, a critical regulator of cell differentiation. Extracel forms a hydrogel in 20 minutes at physiological pH and at temperatures ranging from 15 to 37 C. The formulation is biodegradable and non-immunogenic, making it useful for animal implantation studies.
