This 96-well plate has a thin bottom that makes it useful for high resolution microscopy assays. The bottom has the same thickness as the original company slides, which is the same as a #1.5 cover slip. The plate is used exactly the same way conventional 96-well plates are used, with the benefit of being able to view the slide from the bottom with high power objectives.
