Kits and reagents for optimizing apoptosis detection in particular research models include proteins and antibodies to assess expression of Bcl-2 family members, survivin and IAPs and to evaluate activity of caspases, PARP and cytochrome c. Kits are available for extraction and analysis of fragmented DNA by gel electrophoresis, in situ detection of DNA fragmentation, measurement of caspase activation, detection of annexin binding to cell surfaces, cleavage of PARP, evaluation of cell proliferation and viability, and disruption of mitochondrial membrane potential.
