Genomic Data Analysis
GenePART software assists in the analysis of genomic data. The software makes it possible to simultaneously identify an interesting set of genes and an optimal partitioning of array samples. For example, in a sample cutaneous T-cell Lymphoma data set, without any prior knowledge about clinical outcomes of the patient samples, the software was able to almost perfectly discriminate short-term (cancer) survivors from long-term (cancer) survivors and normal controls. A competing approach based on hierarchical clustering was unable to separate the two tissue classes. The package is capable of finding interesting partitions of data and simultaneously finding a set of genes that can discriminate these partitions.
