Proteome Databases
Proteome databases are a collection of up-to-date information for characterized and uncharacterized proteins pertaining to mammalian and model organism proteomes. Researchers can easily retrieve details about proteins and their relationships. The new release incorporates a number of enhancements. Disease View reports contain a new section listing additional diseases for which the disease-of-the-page may be a symptom, helping ensure that information for related diseases is not overlooked. Links to TRANSFAC and TRANSPATH databases provide an integrated work environment. This suite of databases builds the new BIOBASE Knowledge Library (BKL(R)). The Proteome Workspace allows users to browse and to manipulate network maps of physical and regulatory interactions between proteins. In addition to more detailed views, users will have the added capability to select any two proteins of interest and identify the shortest path connecting those proteins. Expanded query capabilities through enhancements to Proteome Retriever functionality include the ability to search by Ensembl identifiers, statistically analyze the significance of query results, and export protein lists in the form of Entrez Gene.
