GCPR Knowledge-base
The GPCR SARfari is a comprehensive and easily accessible knowledge-base covering a group of receptors exploited in drug discovery. The tool covers many of the most important G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs). It contains the relevant chemical, natural ligand, structural and biological information on all 297 human rhodopsin-like (non-olfactory) GPCRs. Both biologists and chemists area are provided with a single essential data resource. The tool includes protein sequences, proprietary 3D structures, corresponding natural ligands and over 60,000 drug-like compounds derived from StARLITe, a proprietary database of medical chemistry and pharmacology. This Web-accessible resource is searchable by compound, protein sequence and text. Structured for ease of use, it enhances in-house knowledge to progress GPCR drug discovery programs. The tool is a component of PharmaCarta, the proprietary gene-to-candidate technology platform that integrates biology- and chemistry-based drug discovery activities.
