Platelet aggregometer model PAP-8E provides good assay performance in platelet function studies. Eight individual channels and system software allow the device to perform a variety of assays or generate a number of dose response curve points in about the same time as is required to perform a single assay or obtain a single data point. Test information can be retrieved and combined for cumulative reports or test data comparisons. Data analysis software provides the means to select specific points for the measurement of the primary and secondary slopes, lag phase, disaggregation, shape change, the area under the curve and the area under a slope. Agonist induced procedure templates are preprogrammed for ADP, Collagen, Heparin (HIPA), Thrombin, Arachidonic Acid, Epinephrine and Ristocetin (RIPA). Additional templates for the study of activated platelets, sticky platelets, Heparin Induced Thrombocytopenia (HIT) and dose response calculations are provided. Open, user defined programmable templates with separate “help” files are also included. Each template may be developed, stored and recalled as desired by the individual lab. The model offers an enhanced Ristocetin Co-Factor Assay. Along with providing templates for the standard 3-point (100%, 50% and 25%) reference curve, it also offers 2 user selectable 4-point reference curve templates. One 4-point (100%, 50%, 25% and 12.5%) template may be used to extend the range of assay below 25% activity.
