MS Analysis Of Formalin-Fixed Tissue
Liquid Tissue MS Protein Prep Kit makes mass spectrometry analysis of formalin-fixed tissue possible. This simple protocol enables discovery and validation of protein biomarkers in the large numbers of archived tissue collections with well-documented clinical outcomes, including disease progression, drug response and toxicity. The kit allows users to extract total protein directly from formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue for mass spectrometry analyses across a number of different MS platforms. Results compare favorably with results reported with other biological samples. A detection range has been demonstrated of several hundred to over 1,000 proteins in a single experiment from FFPE tissue. Each kit contains reagents and materials to prepare four samples yielding a tryptic digest suitable for direct analysis by, for example, LC-MS, SELDI or MALDI-TOF. The kit can be used with macro- or micro-dissected tissue samples, and the protocol is straightforward and easy to use.
