Biological Mimics Live Pathogens

BioSim, a harmless biological stimulant that mimics live pathogens, is offered for the purpose of safely testing the functionality of biological detection systems and conducting biological simulations. Biological monitoring systems designed to ensure air quality are becoming more common as both bioterrorism and recognized natural threats increase. Biosim surrogate particles are easily and quickly dispensed on site or in labs into a sampler intake, a liquid sample fluid or onto any surface for subsequent collection and analysis. Dispersion occurs through a patent-pending delivery system known as a metered-dose dispenser (MDD). The test particles can be collected and concentrated by a system’s air sampler and then analyzed using PCR (polymerase chain reaction), which is commonly used in state-of-the art detection systems today. This process results in an effective performance evaluation of a biological detection system or simulation. The test particles are laboratory-engineered, reproducible and completely safe microscopic carrier beads with chemically attached DNA fragments.
