Telomerase Detection Kit
Telomerase ribonucleoprotein enzyme complex extends telomere length by adding hexameric repeats onto the telomeric ends of chromosomes, playing a role in proliferation and tumorigenesis. Quantitative Telomerase Detection Kit, an in vitro assay system, uses a one-step polymerase chain reaction (PCR) to assess telomerase activity. After extract sample preparation with lysate buffer, the active telomerase adds telomeric repeats onto the 3' end of the substrate oligonucleotide. The extension products are then amplified by PCR, and the PCR products are detected by measuring the increase in fluorescence caused by reagent binding to double-stranded DNA. The kit contains a template for quantitative analysis and comparison on in-house control samples.
