Disposable Flask/Bioreactor
CELLine adhere, a disposable flask-bioreactor is optimized for protein expression from adherent cells, incorporates a woven polyethylene teraphthalate (PET) matrix in the cell compartment to provides an ideal surface for attachment of anchorage dependent cells such as HEK, BHK and CHO. Novel membrane technology separates the cultivation chamber with an upper semi-permeable membrane through which nutrient can diffuse and a lower chamber through which gases diffuse. Separate ports allow selective access to the upper nutrient supply chamber and the central cultivation chamber. This compartmentalized arrangement means that medium can be exchanged without influencing the function or growth of the cells. With achievable cell densities of between 107 and 108 cells per milliliter, high level cell concentrations are provided. Product concentrations of several milligrams per milliliter can be achieved, making the bioreactor highly suitable for protein expression in transfected cell lines, even over extended periods of time.
