Sentient™ Platform, Release 1.5 improves search speed for comparing new 2-D electrophoresis gels with images residing in existing public and private databases. With the latest version, it is practical for a protein chemist to search for and retrieve information on a target spot on a 2-D gel with results in less than five seconds. New gels, even of different sizes and experimental methods, can be normalized to remove artifacts and provide a uniform set of coordinates for search and analysis. Each spot is given a shape factor as part of the vector.
