Rat Gene Array
Rat Gene BioGridArray (BGA) facilitates gene-expression studies of toxicity. BGA was developed by choosing genes that have been found to be regulated in response to stress or exposure to toxicants according to publicly available data. To demonstrate the efficacy of the array to discriminate compounds by their gene-expression profiles, known toxicants have been assayed in primary cultured hepatocytes in collaboration with a leading biopharmaceutical company. Each well of the BGA microplate contains the same array of 173 genes printed in duplicate as well as a number of housekeeping and control genes. Complete annotation is also provided for each gene to facilitate data interpretation.
