The Scientific Workflow Solution integrates clusters, supercomputers, Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) products, data management tools and storage arrays into a unified system for simplifying scientific workflow. Comprised of hardware and software in a standards-based environment, the system provides enables facilities to run multiple applications on a central resource of integrated, optimized platforms. Both desktop and server systems share a single pool of data. Common user and system management reduces personnel expense. The solution is built on a combination of elements, including: a common Linux operating system; platform-wide storage solutions to simplify data sharing, access, movement, and management; a single system to schedule jobs and manage workflow; a centralized systems management interface and operational dashboard for updating, provisioning, configuring, and monitoring; and optional system-specific performance and tuning enhancements through ProPack for Linux.
