Compound Handling Facility Increases Capabilities
Specs has opened a new processing facility in Cumberland, MD. The 12,000 square foot site houses six weighing stations, barcode printers, robotics liquid handling and plating equipment and space for long-term compound storage. The new facility utilizes proprietary processes for handling and preparing research samples. Samples are weighed and transferred to new vials and a unique barcode, available in various formats, is applied. Compounds may then be solubilized and plated in 96 or 384 well microtiter plates as requested. Replicate plates with a high degree of reproducibility can be made for further study. Back-up sets of compounds, sometimes called "disaster sets", can be stored at the facility. Storage conditions include ambient temperature, refrigeration or 㫨 C. The above services are also offered on-site at the customer's facility.
