Proprietary monoclonal DJ-1 antibody is specific for human DJ-1. It is characterized for immunohistochemistry, Western blotting, Immunofluorescence and ELISA. The conserved approx.20 kDa protein DJ-1 is involved in diverse cellular processes, such as cellular transformation, control of protein-RNA interaction, oxidative stress response and male infertility. Found in sperm of many mammalian species, including humans, and in rodent species, it appears to affect the capacity of the sperm to fertilize. DJ-1 has been reported to appear in the sera of women at an early stage of breast cancer, and its level of expression has been observed to increase, together with several other proteins, in prostate cancer cell lines.© 2008 Advantage Business Media.
