Cloning Kits
Lucigen's PCR-SMART™ Cloning Kits incorporate the company's CloneSmart™ technology. PCR products containing "difficult-to-clone" sequences like AT- or GC-rich regions, toxic genes, nucleotide repeats, or strong promoters are often rearranged or lost entirely. These sequences are stably maintained in transcription-free pcrSMART vector, so that cloning results accurately represent the population of input PCR products. Screening is not needed, since the cloning efficiency of greater than 99.9% means that essentially every colony is recombinant. The kits can clone a wide range of PCR products, from less than 100 bp up to 15 kb. All ligation and cloning reagents are included, and the kits are available either with or without Lucigen's E. cloni™ ultracompetent cells (>2 × 1010 cfu/μg DNA).
