M-COMB Laser Combiner (Olympus America Corp.) simplifies the integration of multiple laser sources on the company’s FV1000 laser scanning confocal microscope. It can be used with laser diodes at 405, 440, 473, 559 or 635 nm, the green Helium 543 nm gas laser, and the Multi-Argon (457/488/514.5 nm) gas laser. The availability of the various lasers provides flexibility in research applications. A broadband optical fiber delivers a wide range of wavelengths to the scan unit. This single optical fiber laser delivery ensures concentrically aligned laser outputs. Configured for use with laser diodes, the M-COMB is half the size of previous laser combiners. It is quiet and generates very little heat. Configured for use with the Olympus SIM scanner, it offers dual outputs to accommodate simultaneous stimulation and imaging.
