Integrating the Velocity11 BenchCel microplate handling system and VSpin Access 2 automated microplate centrifuge, this workstation automates handling of up to 320 microplates. A software interface allows users to specify centrifugation settings. The VSpin is a small, robotic-accessible centrifuge that provides vibration and noise control. Two standard microplates can be accommodated at one time. The unit is capable of rapid acceleration and deceleration (a customisable setting), minimizing required cycle time. The VSpin is utilized in filtration protocols, air bubble removal in high density plates, and in spin-downs including cells and cellular debris. Units can be stacked to save space. Door design allows access to the bucket by a range of articulated arm robots. For robots that cannot reach through the door, the Access2 plate loader allows unobstructed accessibility. The unit offers three second loading time and robust motion control. R-Series BenchCel benchtop microplate handling systems feature a high-speed plate shuttle that enables rapid and precise accessing of integrated microplate stacks and peripheral instruments and provides the ability to work with lidded microplates.
