Analyze Whole Blood For White Blood Cells
New side scatter feature offered with the Guava EasyCyte system will allow researchers to analyze whole blood for different types of white blood cells, without having to stain or fix the cells. The granular structures in the cytoplasm of granulocytes, a type of white blood cell, cause more scattering of incident light than the more uniform cytoplasm of lymphocytes, another type of white blood cell. This makes it easier to perform what is known as a three-part differential on whole blood: assessing the percentage and number of granulocytes, monocytes, and lymphocytes in a given sample. Side scatter is also used in other applications, such as a QC measure for cell line sample integrity, as a way to eliminate debris from your sample, or to discern infected from non-infected cells. EasyCyte is a five-parameter system that is flexible, highly affordable, and ultra-compact. It requires only a few microliters of sample volume, saving on usage of cells, reagents, and compounds. Turnkey assays enable, fast measurements of cell counting/viability, GFP expression and viability, apoptosis, cell cycle analysis, antigen detection, cell tracking, and more.
