Protein Microarrayer

The NanoPrint Protein Edition High Throughput Microarrayer includes everything needed to manufacture protein microarrays. The product includes a Stealth 48 Micro Spotting Device (with extended collars); multi-station wash, dry station and sonicator for micro spotting pins to remove even sticky proteins; digitally controlled plate and/or slide cooling options; digitally controlled humidity chamber; HEPA filtered microarraying chamber; ArrayManager software; and a starter pack of consumables. Proteins have a number of levels of organization, each of which is required for an active protein and required to print high quality protein arrays that can detect protein interactions. In addition, intact epitope structure is a requirement for antibody binding. Hydrogen bonding, the force that maintains the correct folding of proteins, has temperature dependant labiality. This temperature dependant change in structure results in protein denaturation and inactivation and destruction of proteins. This is most evident when a protein source, such as an egg is heated to high temperatures during cooking. This same effect happens at lower temperatures. For every 10 degrees Celsius, the rate of denaturation doubles. This helps explain why food lasts longer in the refrigerator and why proteins last longer in the cold SpotBot arraying chamber. The optimal temperature for proteins (excluding freezing) is 4C. For the last 30 years protein chemistry has been performed in the cold room - the Protein Edition SpotBot frees you from the cold but saves your proteins. Another key factor that affects protein integrity is microbial contamination (bacteria and fungi). The metabolic rate of microbes is greatly reduced under cold conditions. This reduces their doubling time and reduces infestation in samples and degradation of proteins.
