Energy Efficiency Options For Refrigerators

An "Energy Efficiency Option" is being added to all scientific refrigerator and incubator models from Powers Scientific, Inc., in April 2008. The option includes door activated lighting, high efficiency fan motors, and triple glass doors. At 5 C, energy consumption is cut by 10-20% over the firm's current scientific refrigerator models, which already use the heat of the compressor to evaporate condensate. The cost of adding this option depends on the size of the refrigerator or incubator required.
