Humidity-Control Workstation
The ability to manipulate cell and tissue culture material under oxygen controlled environments is essential in cell biology, cancer research, and other laboratories, as varying degrees of oxygen deficiency profoundly affect cellular behavior in diseased states. UltraSonic Humidification (USH) systems allow such conditions to be experimentally re-created. Ultrasonic humidification ensures sample media do not dehydrate during experimentation and provides an improved degree of control over environmental conditions. Humidification is achieved in minutes as opposed to hours, and the water "top-up rate" is an occasional rather than a daily requirement. Also, the risk of contamination in the water is kept to a minimum, as the energy source is ultrasonic. The proprietary USH system, which can be fitted to all models in the Ruskinn product range, produces extremely fine particles of water that are then pumped into the workstation. These are circulated and quickly absorbed into the internal atmosphere to generate the desired level of humidity. At this point the humidifier automatically switches off and a fan cools the condenser panel. The resulting condensation reduces the humidity to a preset level, at which the condenser fan is turned off and the humidifier back on. The water is captured in the humidifier reservoir ready for recirculation back into the workstation to allow continued control of humidity levels.
