Dyes For Multiplex PCR
CAL Fluor and Quasar Dyes, two series of dyes for multiplex real-time, quantitative PCR (rt, Q-PCR), have emission maxima ranging from 522 nm to 670 nm. The dyes are offered as alternatives for seven fluorophores commonly used on real-time thermocyclers: TET, JOE, VIC, HEX, Texas Red, Cy3 and Cy5. The CAL Fluor and Quasar dyes are available as phosphoramidites and are licensed under flexible terms. Most are available as modified CPGs in bulk or pre-packaged in ready-to-go automated DNA synthesis column formats. They are fully compatible with automated DNA synthesizers and purification protocols and they demonstrate exceptional stability under DNA probe work-up conditions, which simplifies purification. Their pairing with Biosearch's proprietary BHQ dark quenchers in dual-labeled rt, Q-PCR probes enables not only duplex but also triplex and quadraplex rt, Q-PCR capability. The dyes can be incorporated into a variety of popular probe designs, including dual-labeled TaqMan and Molecular Beacon probes and Black Hole Scorpions and Amplifluor Direct primer systems. They are fully compatible with the range of real-time PCR instruments.
