Side-mounted TEM Camera
Morada 11 MegaPixel TEM CCD camera (Soft Imaging System) is offered for the wide-angle port of all commonly used transmission electron microscopes. It is integrated with iTEM, Soft Imaging System's new TEM image analysis platform. Dynamic range of 14 bits and pixel size 9 μm combine with 11 megapixel resolution to provide a field of view corresponding to approximately twice the area of a photo plate. The camera is mounted on the wide-angle port (35 mm) of any of the usual TEMs and is automatically maneuvered into the electron beam path of the TEM via pressurized air. The camera incorporates an efficient lens-coupled phosphorous screen, a custom lens for projecting the image onto the CCD sensor, as well as an ultra-precise mechanical positioning system. Level of detail is comparable to a photo plate at the same sized field of view. The CCD chip has an electronic shutter. Fast exposure times — less than 1 ms — are possible, as are lengthy ones — up to 60 sec. A variety of binning modes are supported, enhancing sensitivity even more. Peltier-cooled CCD chip is stabilized at a temperature of 15 C. Maximum pixel clock rate of 24 MHz enables read-out rates of up to 10 frames per second in partial read-out mode. For image acquisition (Snapshot), the camera automatically switches to the 12 MHz mode.
