EMCCD Camera
SPOT Boost EMCCD cameras utilize electron multiplication technology for use in low to extremely low-light, live cell microscopy applications. Temperature compensated linear electron multiplication gain of up to 1000× offers the capability to extract extremely faint signals without the use of an image intensifier, in effect, silencing read noise. Even higher effective EM gains are possible with camera cooling capacity (㫞 C standard). Three base models include both front illuminated and sensitive (>90% QE) back-illuminated CCD versions. Features include selectable image read speeds, adjustable gain multiples, and adjustable vertical clocking. Rates of over 10,000 sub frames per second can be achieved. Biological applications including single molecule detection, live cell microscopy, spinning disk confocal microscopy, TIRF, FRET and other forms of bioluminescent and chemiluminescent imaging.
