Live Cell Option For Confocal Microscope

Added to the CellMap™ ID and CellMap™ IC low-cost confocal laser scanning microscopy systems is a live cell option. This option consists of a unique Signal Enhancing Lens System (SELS) that permits imaging of live cells at low laser powers for increased sample viability. It also includes TimeCourse software, providing real-time observation of signal intensities over time. Based on solid-state lasers, CellMap is small enough to rest on the average desk or benchtop. The system also boasts intuitive, easy-to-use software to acquire images and measure fluorescence. CellMap ID (blue-green) offers a 405 nm and 488 nm solid-state laser. Applications include dual color imaging of DAPI stained nuclei, and FITC or GFP stained proteins. The system views photo-activateable GFP and, with a bright TRITC or Cy3 conjugate, images 3 fluorophores. CellMap IC (green-red) offers a 488 nm and 532 nm laser to image FITC or GFP combined with common red fluorophores, such as TRITC or Cy3. Applications range from pathology to identifying novel proteins in brain slices.
