Human Total p27Kip1 TiterZyme EIA Kit quantitatively determines human p27 in cell lysates. p27Kip1 is a member of a family of CDK inhibitors (CDIs) that bind to cyclin/CDK complexes and arrest cell division. It has been implicated in apoptosis, cell division and proliferation, and is expressed in most tissues with the highest levels found in skeletal muscle tissue. A decrease in p27 expression has been associated with the growth of breast, lung, colorectal, gastric and prostate tumors. The immunoassay kit features a colorimetric 96-well plate format and precisely measures human p27 concentration with a range of 25 to 1600 pg/ml in just 3 hours. This assay is non-radioactive, stable and sensitive to 10.8 pg/ml, and each kit supplies easy-to-use, color-coded liquid reagents.
