XIAP (X-linked inhibitor of apoptosis) belongs to the IAP (inhibitors of apoptosis) family, which is characterized by one or more BIR (baculovirus IAP repeat) domains. These proteins have multiple biological functions that include binding and inhibiting caspases, regulating cell cycle progression and modulating receptor-mediated signal transduction. Colorimetric, 96-well plate format precisely measures XIAP concentration with a range of 312.5-10,000 pg/ml, making Western blotting obsolete. The three-hour assay is non-radioactive, stable, and sensitive to 90.6 pg/ml. Each kit comes complete with color-coded liquid reagents.
