Anti-Mullerian Hormone/Mullerian Inhibiting Substance ELISA

Diagnostic Systems Laboratories, Inc. has introduced a new Anti-Mullerian Hormone/Mullerian Inhibiting Substance (AMH/MIS) ELISA. This mono/mono two-site ELISA has a dynamic range of 0.05-10 ng/ml and sensitivity of 0.039 ng/ml. Featuring ready-to-use reagents and results in under 3 hours, this test may be run manually or fully automated on open-platform microplate systems. MH/MIS is produced by the Sertoli cells of the testis in the male, and by ovarian granulosa cells in the female. During embryonic development in males, secretion of AMH/MIS from testicular Sertoli cells is essential for the regression of the Mullerian ducts, and thus the normal development of the male reproductive tract. Potential clinical research applications include assessment of ovarian reserve and perimenopausal transition status, evaluation of male gonadal function, differential diagnosis of intersex disorders and detection and management of granulosa cell tumours. Preliminary studies indicate that this test may also prove invaluable in combination with the Inhibin B test, exclusively available from DSL. Diagnostic Systems Laboratories, Inc.
