The 48-plex GenomeLab SNPstream (Beckman Coulter, Inc.), an automated, multiplexed genotyping system can process up to 48 SNPs in each well of an arrayed 384-well plate. Operation at consistent cost per genotype or per sample, regardless of run throughput, permits the user to cost-effectively zero in on targets with low-throughput studies as well as to conduct high-throughput analyses. The systems feature a simple protocol with just three steps. Single-based primer extension technology allows operation at 99% accuracy. Accurate results are delivered using as little as 2 ng of genomic DNA. Plates are compatible with Beckman Coulter Biomek series liquid handlers, for pre-and post-PCR setup. Multiplexing within the 384-well plate enables running a range of genomic samples. The system can be run manually or integrated with plate-handling robotics.
