Clontech is distributing vectors encoding several of the Fruit Fluorescent Proteins, which are well characterized, and were developed in Dr. Roger Tsien’s lab. mCherry is available in four different vector formats to not-for-profit entities/academic labs. All four mCherry vectors, plus source vectors for five additional Fruit Fluorescent Proteins, are available to for-profit entities, through Clontech’s licensing program. The Fruit Fluorescent Proteins have a wide emission range and perform successfully in many fusion applications. In addition, all of the Fruit Fluorescent Proteins can be detected with Clontech Living Colors DsRed monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies.
