Localization Vectors
New BD Living Colors™ subcellular localization vectors pHcRed1-Nuc and pHcRed1-Mito express the far-red fluorescent protein HcRed1 fused to a localization tag. Far-red shifted fluorescence easily distinguishes HcRed1 from other fluorescent proteins. pHcRed1-Nuc expresses HcRed1 with a C-terminal nuclear localization signal that localizes the chromophore in the cell nucleus. pHcRed1-Mito expresses HcRed1 with an N-terminal mitochondrial targeting sequence that targets the chromophore to the mitochondria. Subcellular localization vectors allow direct, non-invasive visualization of living cells.
