Mounting Medium
VECTASHIELD® HardSet™ Mounting Medium, for fluorescently stained tissue sections and cells, provides protection from photobleaching and fading, and hardens. Handling and storage of mounted sections is easy, and no sealing of coverslips is required. Coverslips can be removed easily from mounted sections with buffer, even after prolonged storage. The mounting medium prevents rapid photobleaching of most fluorophores including fluorescein, rhodamine, Texas Red®, Cy3™, Alexa Fluor® 488 and 594 and preserves fluorescence for weeks after mounting. It is also available for in situ hybridization studies with 4 feet, 6-diamidino-2-phenylindole (DAPI) for counterstaining DNA.
