Cloning Vectors
Cloning vectors for fluorescent proteins derived from Aequorea Victoria are available from Invitrogen. These clones will enable scientists to employ Emerald Green (EmGFP), the next-generation replacement for EGFP, as well as Cyan (CFP) and Blue (BFP) Fluorescent Proteins. The clones will be available as custom products and serve as source vectors for the fluorescent proteins, enabling researchers to move these proteins into the expression vectors of choice. Additionally, Invitrogen plans to launch a series of Gateway Technology products that contain the optimized EmGFP and Yellow (YFP) Fluorescent Proteins, as well as ViraPower Lentiviral Expression Vectors that contain EmGFP later in the year.
