Gel Purification Kit
The S.N.A.P.™ UV-Free Gel Purification Kit uses a crystal violet staining reagent to allow detection of DNA in agarose gels under ambient light. Traditional methods require staining agarose gels with ethidium bromide and visualizing DNA with UV light. Exposure to UV light nicks and damages DNA, reducing cloning efficiency. After visualization, DNA up to 20 kb can be rapidly gel isolated using a simple spin column format. Eluted DNA is intact, ultra-pure, and ready for use in transfection, sequencing or cloning.
