TB DRY™ is a single powder formulation of the classic Terrific Broth. It is primarily used to grow E. coli cultures harboring low copy plasmids. Specifically designed to give high yields of low copy plasmids and extremely high yields of high copy plasmids, the media is pH stabilized with Tris. This increases bacterial growth and leads to higher yields of plasmid DNA. Cultures can be grown for up to 3 days to increase cell density without cell death. The single powder formulation of TB DRY eliminates the need to prepare and autoclave two separate solutions and add glycerol, as is necessary with the original formula for Terrific Broth. To prepare TB DRY, simply mix with water and autoclave. All media components are guaranteed BSE-Free.
