DNA Agarose Purification Kit
UltraClean™ GelSpin™ DNA Purification Kit utilizes a silica spin filter method to purify DNA fragments from TAE or TBE agarose gels. The procedure, which takes five minutes, removes ethidium bromide, linkers, and labels. Kit format allows one to simply melt, bind, wash and collect DNA. After electrophoresis, the desired DNA band is cut from an agarose gel and placed directly in the spin filter unit. The gel slice is melted irreversibly in a high molarity chaotropic salt. Then, the DNA is bound to the silica spin filter membrane and washed once to remove traces of agarose and salt. The DNA is recovered from the spin filter membrane in water or Tris buffer. Recovered DNA ranges in size from 60 bp to 50 kb. Required tubes and reagents are included and ready to use.
