Antibody-Based Microarray

Panorama Ab Microarray Cell Signaling Kit is the first in a line of antibody-based microarrays from Sigma-Aldrich. Antibody microarrays are a valuable tool when researching cancer and other diseases in which growth, invasion and transmission may result from an abnormal network of cell signaling proteins. Each kit consists of 224 carefully-chosen, immobilized antibodies. Each antibody is also available separately. Kit format maintains antibody activity and specificity within a three-dimensional structure of the nitrocellulose layer. This results in high protein binding capacity, dynamic range and reproducibility. A specific, five to six hour direct labeling process eliminates the potential for cross-specificity of antibody pairs. All proteins are labeled with reactive dyes, mixed and incubated on the microarray, allowing specific proteins to bind to antibodies on the array. A 12 month shelf life is made possible by a specific process that utilizes a proprietary blocking buffer.
