DNA Purification Kits
Versagene DNA Blood Purification Kits isolate genomic DNA from whole blood or buffy coat. The column-based method produces pure, double-stranded DNA with high molecular weights, typically 50 kb. Kits supply all the mini-columns and reagents needed to purify sample volumes ranging from 0.05 to 10 ml. Recovery rates are 60 to 90%. The resulting DNA is free of RNA, protein and other contaminants, and is suitable for stringent downstream analyses, including DNA microarrays and Southern blotting. The kits contain no harsh organic reagents or guanidinium salts. The entire purification process can be completed on the bench at room temperature without a fume hood. Protocols do not require a cooled centrifuge, heat block or water bath.
