Bioinformatics Database Search Capability
StarBlast software program enables BLAST or text searches on DNA and protein sequence databases, using a Windows desktop machine as the server and providing a GUI interface on Windows and Macintosh platforms to interact with the server for database creation and maintenance. A web browser or proprietary Lasergene module is used to send queries and display results. StarBlast configures to run on a laptop, Intranet, or Internet connections to serve an individual researcher, entire lab, or several collaborators working in many locations.
