Cell Viability Assay
CellTiter-Blue™ Cell Viability Assay, a homogeneous method for estimating the number of viable cells present in multiwell plates, is easily automated assay, allows a choice of fluorometric or colorimetric detection, 96- or 384-well formats, opportunity to multiplex assays, and flexibility in the duration of incubation to maximize sensitivity. The assay is relatively non-toxic to cells and can be multiplexed with other cell-based assays in the same well, such as Promega's Apo-ONE® Homogeneous Caspase-3/7 Assay. Add a single reagent directly to cells cultured in multiwell plates, incubate for 1-4 hours, and record fluorescence or absorbance. The signal produced by conversion of resazurin to resorufin is directly proportional to viable cell number.
