Multifunction Centrifuge Series

The B4i and C3i multifunction centrifuges are available in ventilated and refrigerated versions. The units feature a high capacity swing-out rotor of 4 × 290 ml, are equipped with a quiet brushless induction motor, and operate at up to 14,000 rpm with a relative centrifugal force of 18,407 ×g. Control system allows parameters to be programmed and displayed, using either speed (rpm) or rcf values. A range of accessories enable these centrifuges to perform a variety of applications, including analytical biology, cytology (slides), molecular biology (micro-titer plates and micro-volumes) and cell culture. Protocols requiring both swing-out and angle rotors can be completed using the same centrifuge. Swing-out rotors can be used to spin large batches of tubes, sample concentration tube systems, analyzer racks, microplates and deep-well blocks. The range of angle rotors accepts tubes up to 100 ml and large batches, such as 192 × 0.5 ml. The Auto-Lock rapid rotor exchange system makes the centrifuges versatile by minimizing set up time: rotors can be exchanged in less than five seconds. Protocols can be saved in five programs with parameters, including speed or RCF, time, temperature, acceleration and braking rate.
