Illumination System
White Light Total Internal Reflection Fluorescence (TIRF) illuminator offers an alternative to traditional laser based systems. The white light system is multi-spectral. All light wavelengths are available with standard microscopy fluorescent filters for the selection of the optimal excitation wavelengths for specific applications. Because the system utilizes HBO, XBO and Exfo lamp systems rather than lasers, interference fringing associated with coherent illumination is not an issue. Due to the illumination path design, the system provides bright illumination with perfect chromatic correction. Switching between TIRF, variable angle oblique and standard epi-fluorescence illumination is quickly and easily accomplished.
