Disposable cell culture system FibraCel 500 reduces operating cost and labor, and produces high yields of protein, virus or cell mass from anchorage-dependent or suspension cultures. Disposable bottles are pre-filled with FibraCel disks, a solid-support matrix, providing a shear-free environment and high-surface area for cell growth. Using as few as 4, 500-ml bottles produces average cell yields of 2 × 10¹⁰. Cells remain entrapped in the disk bed during the entire culture run, simplifying media replacement, and protein/virus harvesting. Bottles are pre-sterilized and ready to use, requiring no cleaning or autoclaving.
